Bernard Segelin

Segelin, Bernard

Passed away May 7, 2008. Born in Rochester, New York on

September 25, 1921. He received a B.A. from the University of Michigan

in 1944. He served in the South Pacific with the USAAF from 1943-1946.

In 1946 he received his Law Degree from NYU Law School and was admitted

to the NY Bar in 1949. He had a distinguished career as an attorney

beginning with Phillips Nizer Benjamin & Krim, N.Y.C. In 1956, he

joined Metro Goldwyn Mayer, Inc. as a litigation attorney and was

elected Secretary of the company in 1970. In 1980 he joined MGM Grand

Hotels, Inc, as Vice President, General Counsel. After his retirement

from MGM in 1986 he became a consultant for such law firms as Wyman

Bautzer Kuchel & Silbert and Katten Muchin Zavis & Weitzman as well as

being an arbitrator for the NASD until 2007. He was passionately

involved with Fantasy Baseball for 17 years. Predeceased by his wife of

49 years Ziona. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Amy, of

Camarillo, who will take care of his beloved rose garden.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue.

Services Monday, May 12, 2008 at 12 p.m. in the Courts of TaNaCH Chapel.
