Ruth Lipman Lipman, Ruth After a long battle with multiple illnesses, Ruth Lipman passed away on July 1, 2010, surrounded by family, at her home in Beverly Hills. Born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1934, Ruth moved to Los Angeles in the 1960s with her husband, Macey Lipman, the great love of her life for 47 years. Described by friends as feisty, fierce, loyal and loving, Ruth was a strong, unconventional patron of the arts. Although she was blinded and handicapped by a brain tumor in 1967, she went on to have a beloved daughter, Meryl and was a supportive wife and mother for the rest of her days.
